Where it started

Installation Experience in the UK

PITLANE was built on years of hands-on experience in the specialist surfacing industry, combining proven installation knowledge, national and international supply experience, and long-standing relationships with leading manufacturers and suppliers.

Founder John Connors developed his experience in the UK through Firmcrete Solutions, delivering specialist surfacing and hard-landscaping projects across residential, commercial and high-profile environments.

That experience included work at Swindon’s largest landscaping display centre, including a large resin-bound logo; the Royal Leonardo Hotel Tower Bridge in London; Heath Mount School, a prestigious boarding school; and Maxilla Gardens in London, where extensive hard landscaping and permeable resin-bound surfacing formed part of the regeneration of the space.

Supply side

Beyond Installation: National Supply

John later moved into the supply side of the industry through SuDS UK, which operated as a national specialist supplier serving hundreds of contractors across the UK, while also supplying specialist surfacing products internationally.

Working closely with contractors, manufacturers and suppliers gave John experience extending well beyond installation — encompassing product sourcing and selection, specifications, drainage requirements, technical systems, distribution and the logistics involved in supplying specialist surfacing materials both nationally and internationally.

DALTEX & Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates

An important part of that journey was developing a close working relationship with DALTEX and Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates. DALTEX has become one of the most recognized names in the UK resin-bound industry, with its products also supplied internationally.

That relationship continues today as PITLANE Surfaces develops its specialist surfacing offering in Canada.

PITLANE Surfaces is a DALTEX UVR Resin Bound Qualified Installer for 2026, bringing together John’s previous installation and supply experience with current product and system training.
