the finish

Coloured quartz aggregate is broadcast into a professionally prepared epoxy system to create a dense, seamless surface with a fine mineral finish and added texture underfoot. The result is a floor that feels purpose-built for spaces that see vehicles, tools, equipment, water and regular daily use.

PITLANE Surfaces installs RS Quartz across Greater Victoria. Qualifying residential installations are backed by a 15-year limited PITLANE warranty, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Built for the way your garage is actually used

Tell us how you use the space, where it gets wet and where extra traction matters. PITLANE will assess the concrete and recommend the right RS Quartz specification for your floor.

the system

What Is RS Quartz Epoxy Flooring?

RS Quartz is a professionally installed epoxy flooring system built directly onto properly prepared concrete. PITLANE mechanically prepares the slab, completes the required repairs and applies the selected epoxy system before broadcasting coloured quartz aggregate across the surface. The floor is then sealed with a protective topcoat to create a continuous, hard-wearing finish.

Unlike decorative flake flooring, quartz creates a finer and more uniform mineral appearance while adding noticeable texture underfoot. Built with PowerCOAT epoxy products, including CHEM100 as specified for the project, RS Quartz is designed for Greater Victoria garages, workshops and commercial spaces where a clean appearance needs to be matched by strength, traction and easy day-to-day maintenance.

performance

More Grip. More Durability. Still a Premium Finish.

The biggest benefit of RS Quartz is that performance is built into the surface. The quartz aggregate creates a dense, textured finish that stands up well to abrasion, regular traffic and the demands of a working garage or workshop. It also provides more traction than a smooth coating, which can be especially valuable around entrances, wash-down areas and places where water is regularly present.

You do not have to sacrifice appearance to get that extra performance. The coloured quartz produces a refined, stone-like finish that looks intentional rather than industrial, making RS Quartz a strong choice for homeowners who want a premium garage floor that is designed to be used, not simply admired.

A strong choice for working garages

If your garage doubles as a workshop, detailing space or hobby area, RS Quartz gives you a floor designed around the extra wear, movement and moisture those spaces often see.

texture

A Textured Garage Floor Specified for Your Space

Not every garage needs the same amount of texture. PITLANE specifies the RS Quartz finish around how your floor will actually be used, so you can balance traction, appearance and ease of cleaning rather than accepting a one-size-fits-all surface.

rq-tex-smooth
Smoother finish

More pronounced texture

A more pronounced texture can provide additional grip where it matters most, while a smoother quartz finish is easier to sweep and mop. During your consultation, tell PITLANE where vehicles enter, where the floor gets wet, and how people move through the space. That information helps us recommend a finish suited to your Greater Victoria property.

No flooring surface is slip-proof. Traction will always vary with water, oil, dust, footwear and the texture selected. PITLANE can provide the manufacturer’s measured slip-resistance data for the specific finish proposed for your project where required.

21 available colours

Create a Quartz Finish That Suits Your Garage

RS Quartz is available in 21 PowerCOAT quartz colours, giving you plenty of flexibility without losing the uniform look that makes this system distinctive. Colours can also be combined to create a custom blend with more depth and variation across the finished floor.

The available colours include Ash, Beige, Black, Blue, Bordeaux, Brown, Buff, Cappuccino, Charcoal, Natural Clear, Flint, Ginger, Gravel, Orange, Red, Sienna, Smoke, Tan, Taupe, White and Yellow. Neutral combinations such as Smoke, Flint, Charcoal and Ash work particularly well in garages where you want a clean, understated finish that complements vehicles, cabinetry and walls.

On-screen colours are representative and may vary from physical samples. PITLANE can provide samples so you can see the finish in the actual lighting of your space before making a final selection.

five stages

How PITLANE Installs RS Quartz

The performance of any epoxy garage floor depends on what happens before the finish goes down. Every RS Quartz installation in Greater Victoria starts with the concrete and builds the system from there.

01Assess
We inspect the concrete, including its general condition, cracking, contamination and moisture, and confirm whether a bonded epoxy flooring system is suitable.
02Prepare
The concrete is mechanically prepared to create the surface profile required for a strong bond. Proper preparation is one of the most important parts of the installation.
03Repair
Necessary cracks, defects and damaged areas are treated as agreed for the project before the coating system is installed.
04Coat and broadcast
The epoxy system is applied and coloured quartz aggregate is broadcast into the coating. Additional stages may be used where the selected specification requires greater thickness, texture or performance.
05Seal
The completed quartz surface is finished with the appropriate protective topcoat to create the final sealed floor and specified texture.

timing

How Long Does RS Quartz Take to Install?

RS Quartz is installed over multiple stages, with the appropriate preparation and cure time allowed between coats. The exact schedule depends on the size and condition of the floor, the repairs required and the final specification selected for the space.

PITLANE confirms the installation schedule and return-to-service timing before work begins, including when the floor can safely accept foot traffic, vehicles or equipment. If minimizing downtime is your main priority, PITLANE can also discuss whether RS Rapid Flake is a better fit for your project.

application

Built for Garages, Workshops and Demanding Spaces

RS Quartz is a versatile option where a standard decorative garage coating may not provide the level of texture or hard-wearing performance you want. Typical applications include:

rq-use-1
01Residential garages, especially garages used as workshops
rq-use-2
02Workshops and hobby spaces
rq-use-3
03Covered porches and walkways
rq-use-4
04Utility and service areas
rq-use-5
05Entrances and transition zones where extra traction is useful
rq-use-6
06High-traffic areas
rq-use-7
07Commercial floors where the specification is selected for the operating environment

PITLANE assesses each project individually and selects the coating build around the concrete, expected traffic and environment rather than applying the same specification to every floor.

care

Easy to Maintain, Even With Added Texture

RS Quartz is a seamless floor, so there are no grout lines or tile joints for dirt to collect in. Routine cleaning is straightforward with sweeping, vacuuming or mopping as required, and the protective topcoat is designed to handle the everyday wear expected in garages and working spaces.

Because texture creates more surface profile than a smooth coating, a more heavily textured finish may hold a little more dust and require slightly more attention when cleaning. PITLANE helps you choose the right balance between traction and maintenance for how you use the space.

Common Questions About RS Quartz

Have questions about RS Quartz? Find the answers below, or contact PITLANE Surfaces to discuss your Greater Victoria flooring project.

Is RS Quartz a non-slip garage floor?+

RS Quartz provides more traction than a smooth coating because the quartz creates texture underfoot, but no floor is completely slip-proof. Grip depends on the texture selected and conditions such as water, oil, dust and footwear. PITLANE specifies the finish around how your space is used.

Is RS Quartz an epoxy floor?+

Yes. RS Quartz is built with PowerCOAT epoxy products, including CHEM100 as specified for the project, with coloured quartz aggregate broadcast into the system and a protective topcoat completing the floor.

Can quartz colours be combined?+

Yes. The 21 PowerCOAT quartz colours can be combined to create custom blends, allowing you to adjust the tone and visual depth of the finished floor.

How is quartz flooring different from flake flooring?+

Flake flooring creates a more decorative chipped pattern, while quartz creates a finer mineral appearance with more texture underfoot. RS Quartz is the more performance-focused option where added traction and a dense, hard-wearing surface are priorities.

Is a textured quartz floor hard to clean?+

No, but a more textured finish can hold slightly more dust than a smooth coating. The floor is still seamless, with no joints or grout lines, and can be swept, vacuumed or mopped as required.

How much does RS Quartz flooring cost in Greater Victoria?+

Pricing depends on the floor size, concrete condition, repairs and the system specification required. PITLANE assesses the project and provides a fixed quotation based on the work your floor actually needs.

Can RS Quartz be installed in commercial spaces?+

Yes. RS Quartz can be specified for commercial flooring applications where durability and traction are important. The coating build and warranty period are selected according to the expected traffic, environment and use.

Can you install RS Quartz over an existing painted floor?+

Existing paint, coatings and sealers generally need to be mechanically removed so the new epoxy system can bond correctly to the concrete. PITLANE assesses the existing surface before confirming the preparation required.

Do you install RS Quartz outside Greater Victoria?+

Greater Victoria is PITLANE Surfaces’ primary service area. Customers elsewhere on Vancouver Island or in the Lower Mainland can contact PITLANE to discuss project availability.
